District to Hold Parent Night for Grade Parents Around HIV/AIDS Prevention Program

Edmond Public Schools will maintain a Parent Information Meeting for the purpose of advising  guardians and grade parents concerning the state.   This meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2018 at the Edmond Public Schools Administrative Services Center, 1001 W. Danforth.

The HIV/AIDS Prevention Education Program is taught at grades 5, 7, 9 and 10.   The 5th  grade program is  united with “Growth and Development” and is taught by the Edmond Public Schools nurses at every faculty.   This spring, this program is going to be taught at your child’s school. Earlier this season, the 10th, 9th and 7th grade programs were taught.

With all parents, a general summary is going to be presented at the Parent Information Meeting.   Parents will have the chance to find out more about the content and be able to view the substances used at the 5th    grade level.

For parents unable to attend the Parent Information Meeting, curriculum materials are available for review. Parents may review the materials at Edmond Public Schools Administrative Center Curriculum Office, 1001 W. Danforth. Parents may check out videos to get  a period beginning the afternoon after the parent meeting. Phoning Kim Robison at 340-2278 can makes reservations for checking out videos and also for reviewing curriculum materials.

A permission slip will need to be signed by a parent, prior to your student is going to be allowed to participate in the HIV/AIDS Prevention Education education. This permission slip is going to be sent home by your child’s instructor before the class.
