WEST SACRAMENTO, California — Three kids were murdered within a California apartment along with their dad has been arrested in the deaths that followed a national violence altercation with his wife, police said Thursday.
California Highway Patrol officers arrested Robert Hodges, 33, on Interstate 80 in Sacramento at around midnight Thursday, West Sacramento police Sgt. Roger Kinney said.

The kids were murdered at the household’s West Sacramento apartment following 9 p.m. PDT Wednesday. All three were declared dead at the scene, although measures attempted on the kids.
Authorities haven’t revealed how they had been murdered.
Kinney reported that she, too, was a victim of domestic violence, and the killings were witnessed by the mother.
“Obviously, she is traumatized, and it is likely to take a while to discover what’s happening,” Kinney said.
Neighbors called 911 to report that a domestic violence episode, and as police were on the road into the apartment, someone known to report the kids were potentially dead, ” he said.
The children’s names, ages and genders have not been released.
Kinney explained a chaplain is going to soon be sent out to help neighbors of those victims and grief counselors will be made accessible to the officers that responded to the scene, in addition to the Washington Unified School District, Kinney said.
“The officers have been totally impacted, alongside the firefighters, and surely the family, the neighbors,” he said. “It’s horrific and it is quite difficult to deal with.”
