What are the negative affects that single parenting has on society?

I'm doing a school project and I would like to obtain information on single parents on welfare. If you can give me information on how many children (of single parents) go to college and have higher paying jobs -that would be great.

I don't have those specific numbers, but with a bit of research, I am sure you can find it on the internet. Anyone out there who has these numbers...chime in!!
